It is a spice from the tree named Pimenta Dioica. This tree (of height between seven and ten meters) has its origin in the south of Mexico and Guatemala, as well as in Jamaica that blooms in the months of April to May. The fruit of the tree is collected, but also the leaves, always in smaller quantity, since they have an aromatic and fresh smell that remind us of eucalyptus or myrrh
Their nuts are used as condiments in various dishes and can easily be combined with other spices.
They taste and smell is similar to that of cloves, cinnamon, black pepper and nutmeg; why English is called "Allspice" because of this combination.
